FRAMES AND FORK TESTING
BICYCLE PARTS TEST
HALLEY
FRAME TESTING MACHINE
This machine has been designed to perform different types of testing and to meet the strictest worldwide standards. The tests are divided into three categories: static tests, dynamic tests (including crash tests), breakage tests. By means of the keyboard it is possible to preset all parameter related to the tests, including: applied load values, load application frequencies, number of stresses, testing method, testing point, etc. The machine displays the test flow in real time and, at the end of each cycle, displays the final results and prints them in a summary table. In addition to the preset parameters, the displayed data include the deformations sustained, in different frame parts, the number of cycles, performed etc. These data can be then stored to establish a Customer record. To avoid to be influenced from a single test result, the tests can be performed on multiple frames of the same typeto yeld average values. The points on which loads are appliee are: bottom bracket, rear part of the frame, seat-tube, handlebar, head tube, front fork. On these areas subjected to load the following tests can be performed: single tests, simultaneous tests, tests in sequence, and always at the end of each single phase different frame points are checked and comparated to the starting situation for a reading and immediate printout of the data.
The frame, equipped with the original fork or a false fork, is loaded in the machine in vertical position. The rear dropouts are manually clamped; pedals or pedal simulators, connected to the rear part of the frame, are mounted on the bottom bracked. The fork rests on a sliding guide. A handlebar is inserted in the headtube to apply thrust. The machine can be adjusted for all frame types.
